Quality questions create a quality life – Tony Robbins
(Tweet This Quote)
Yesterday, I was reading through my personal Facebook newsfeed. I noticed a comment by a friend. I’m going to paraphrase him, but it went something like this:
I’m always trying to do better and get ahead, but nothing seems to work out for me. What did I do to deserve this?
If it is true that the quality of our lives is based on the questions that frame them, then it’s vital that we pay attention to the questions that we ask.
What are the questions you build your life on? Are you even aware of the questions you’re asking yourself? Are they empowering or debilitating?
Look at the debilitating question my friend was asking himself. Here are some other common ones. See if you recognize any that have framed your life till now.
Why can’t I ever do anything right?
Why do I always screw things up?
Why can’t I get a break?
Am I cursed?
Why is Life out to get me?
Why can’t I ever get ahead?
Why does everyone take advantage of me?
What is wrong with me?
What If You Asked a Better Question?
What would change in your life if you asked better questions? Try it.
Here are a few to help you get started.
What does this mean?
What is really going on? (one of my personal favorites)
Does this really have anything to do with me?
Is this personal?
What if I let this go?
Do I have to engage this?
Do I really need to react/respond?
Can I give myself some time before responding?
What should my reaction/response be?
How is it that life seems to always work out in the end?
What questions have you been asking? Can you find one weak one and find a stronger one to replace it with intentionally? I would love to hear your questions in the comments below.
Share them so they can help others. That’s where the best stuff happens anyway!
